First off, I want to say thank you for visiting Keen Traveling and I hope you find this site enjoyable and useful and that I open eyes to the world. Many have and will ask, "Why did you decide to start this site?" which is a great question. I've started Keen Traveling for several reasons:
1. Friends and family asked me to
Throughout my travels thus far I have accumulated stories, photos, and more from all over the world. I've shared many of the photos and stories with family and close friends and many of them have suggested I start a blog to share my experiences with others.
2. Central location
Keen Traveling provides a central space for all of my stories, photos, resources, tips, news about where I am and what I'm doing, and future trips and endeavors. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words and other times a picture can't do justice. While my Instagram can portray my experiences visually, often times words and stories are needed to get a better picture or understanding. This is the goal of Keen Traveling...to open eyes to the world through my stories and experiences.
3. Hobby
My background is in Business Administration and Marketing so, Keen Traveling provides me an opportunity to use my marketing experience to reach others and share my stories. I also enjoy the technical and design sides of creating and maintaining a website.
4. Opening Eyes to the World
The primary goal of Keen Traveling is to open eyes to the world. Oftentimes we get caught up in the day-to-day motions of life and in the blink of an eye life has passed by you and you've seen very little of the world. I have been privileged to travel to 19 countries (as of 2017) and know that I've only just scratched the surface of seeing all that the world has to offer. If I can do it, anyone can. I hope through this site and my experiences that I will open eyes to the world. If I encourage just one person to get out of their comfort zone and travel the world then I will call Keen Traveling a success. If you have any questions or are wondering how I took the first step to exploring the world, feel free to reach out and ask!
